After embryo transfer, what you should pay attention to.

After the embryo is transferred, a blood draw will be arranged one to two weeks after the transfer to confirm whether the is implanted. Then at 6 to 7 weeks of pregnancy, the embryo sac and heartbeat will be confirmed by ultrasound, and the fetal development will be followed up to 12 to 14 weeks, by 12-14 weeks pregnancy, it means graduating from the fertility center.

During early pregnancy, what should we take care of?

Take the medicine regularly, do not stop the medicine arbitrarily

Drugs used after implantation are generally common and need to be used regularly, including estrogen, progesterone, anticoagulant drugs, steroids, etc. According to different clinical conditions, each person may have different drugs and dosages.

In the early stage of embryo implantation, the placenta has not yet fully developed. If under artificial reproductive treatment, additional progesterone and estrogen need to be supplemented. If the drug is stopped arbitrarily, it may cause bleeding and affect the pregnancy result.

Anticoagulant drugs are related to reducing the risk of thrombosis, while steroids are immune-related drugs. Whether they can be adjusted or discontinued depends on individual clinical conditions.

Cooperate with follow-up (including blood and ultrasound examination)

A pregnancy index (b-hCG) will be arranged one to two weeks after the embryo is transferred, to confirm whether the embryo is implanted. In addition, progesterone, thrombosis index, and white blood cell count will also be tracked at the same time to assist in judging whether to adjust medication.

Before the blastocyst can be checked with ultrasound, tracking the increase in the pregnancy index(b-HCG) can also be used to evaluate whether the embryo is growing as expected. If the pregnancy index rises not as expected, early intervention or adjustment of drugs may increase the chance for development of the embryo.

In the case of repeated implantation failures, further blood tests will be arranged to check advanced immune indicators to see if there is a possibility of excessive immune response after embryo implantation, or to evaluate the effect of using advanced immune drugs.

Blood tests have their own purpose. They can be used to detect the development of the embryo, adjust the drug, find the cause, evaluate the efficacy of the drug, etc., so that the doctor can have the opportunity to intervene in the early stage of the embryo implantation, improve the implantation environment and increase the probability of success. After the implantation has been confirmed, the development of the embryo is mainly followed by blood drawing in the early stage.

After five weeks of pregnancy, there is an opportunity to track the gestational sac with ultrasound. After that, ultrasound measurements will be used to track the development of the fetus.

Avoid extra stress in daily life.

After the implantation, the psychological pressure, coupled with many taboo restrictions among the people, made it impossible to relax physically and mentally. In fact, except for smoking and drinking, which are absolutely prohibited, most of the others are relative taboos, that is, they can be accepted conditionally.

For example, the amount of common coffee, one cup (less than 200mg caffeine) a day is acceptable, and low doses of caffeine will not have any effect on the fetus. For another example, avoiding raw food such as sashimi, raw eggs, undercooked beef, etc. is not because the food itself is bad, but because you are worried about the source of the food. If the food is contaminated, it will cause additional gastroenteritis, bacterial infection, etc. , increasing the risk of pregnancy.

Among the taboos, many foods or activities are not harmful in themselves. Whether you can eat or do them depends on each person's situation and consumption at that time. If you still have doubts about a certain thing or a certain food, then avoid it. If you still want to eat it very much, you can ask a doctor for help to evaluate it.

Paying attention to these post-implantation dos and don'ts can make the process smooth and the time after embryo transfer more enjoyable.
