Egg freezing is the only way to stop the egg from aging (decline in quality) and to keep them in perfect condition since the egg retrieval surgery day.

We would like to share the story of a case, Miss Julie, who’s young but with poor ovarian reserve. Miss Julie achieved her goal of preserving 10 eggs in just one month by the help of  mild-stimulating treatments and twice oocyte retrieval surgery.

It’s crucial to check the AMH level (ovarian reserve) before jumping into egg freezing programs.

Miss Julie menstruated regularly, which was why she was surprised by her low AMH level (poor ovarian reserve).

At the age of 32, her AMH level was supposed to be 3.11. However, it was only 1.9, just a little bit more than half of the normal value.

Miss Julie doesn’t smoke or drink alcohol (both are considered AMH decline factors). She was nervous yet curious about if there were measures to increase ovarian reserve. Sadly, there’s no way of elevating AMH value. There are only supplements that can delay the speed of AMH declining. It can’t be reversed.

Furthermore, as women age, not only will the ovarian reserve decline, so will the quality of the egg. The only solution to this problem is egg freezing.

Egg Freezing Treatment 1-1

Miss Julie started the treatment right after consultation. Considering her age (32 years old) and future baby numbers (1), we set the goal of freezing ten eggs.

Based on her AMH level, we arranged mild-stimulation treatment, which is characterized by few injections together with oral medication.

Two consultations, two ultrasound checkups and one blood draw were arranged before the first oocyte retrieving surgery. The estrogen level is 1557, which met with our standard and we planned the surgery date accordingly.

The first surgery went smoothly. Seven oocytes were retrieved, and six upon them were mature, hence frozen and preserved.

Small follicles (not big enough to retrieve oocytes from) were found at both sides of ovaries on the first surgery day. Therefore, we arranged a twice oocyte retrieval treatment.

Egg Freezing Treatment 1-2

We kept the mild-stimulating dosage going during the twice oocyte retrieval treatment. One consultation, one blood draw, and one ultrasound checkup were arranged. The estrogen level was 2591, and the follicles developed well, so we planned the second surgery accordingly.

For the second time, we retrieved five oocytes and four among them were mature, therefore frozen.

One menstrual cycle, two oocyte retrieval surgeries, ten mature frozen eggs. Everything went smoothly.

Egg Freezing is No Longer Just Trivia

Premature ovarian failure sometimes shows no symptoms. It is diagnosed by low AMH value, not menstrual blood volume.

AMH should be included in regular physical check-ups, just like height, weight, liver/kidney function, cancer indexes, etc., for it is equally important. Check your AMH regularly so you can learn more about your body. Early detection for early treatment.

For women with low AMH value, we arrange personalized, mild-stimulating treatment in order to cut down on numbers of injections, blood draws, and clinic visits. Trying to provide egg freezing programs for women without affecting their work and life.

Twice oocyte retrieving treatment also helps those with premature ovarian failure or diminishing oocyte reserve save time and reach their goals (ideal frozen egg number) faster.
